Basic rcon control and list of commands

Rcon can be used via two different ways:

a) via the console
b) via HLSW

Via the console:

1) While in game, hit the console button. This is the button with a ¬ and ` on. It is located above the tab key.
2) Type the following:

rcon_password "mypassword"

Replacing "mypassword" with the rcon password provided.

Once this has been done you will be able to execute rcon commands, as shown below.

Via HLSW:

Download HLSW from www.hlsw.net. HLSW has a very easy to use interface which allows you to run rcon commands with ease.

Commonly used rcon commands:

rcon changelevel <map name> - Will change the server to a different map. E.g. rcon changelevel de_aztec

rcon users - Will display all current connected users and their STEAM ID's

rcon kick <name> - Replace <name> with the players name. This will kick them from the server.

rcon sv_password "password" - Sets a password on the server. Type rcon sv_password "" to remove the password.
